The Fish

All the fish in our systems are genuine Garra  Rufa Fish sourced from wild sustainable sources. Beware of other companies passing cheaper but less efficient relatives off as Garra Rufa Fish

Garra Rufa is the name given to two  species of fish: Doctor Fish and Cyprinion macrostomus. Other nicknames include nibble fish and kangal fish. They live and breed in the outdoor pools of some Turkish spas, where they feed on the skin of patients with psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis. The fish are like combfishes in that they only consume the affected and dead areas of the skin, leaving the healthy skin to grow, with the treatment bringing many beneficial effects. The spas are not meant as a curative treatment option, only as a temporary alleviation of symptoms, and patients usually revisit the spas every few months. However some patients have experienced complete cure of psoriasis after repeated treatments.

Garra rufa occurs in the river basins of the Northern and Central Middle East, mainly in Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran.

Just so you know, a question I get asked a lot is do they have teeth. The answer is no the fish can't and won't harm you they have no teeth at all.
